It started as a runDisney challenge. I wanted Wine & Dine to be my first race.

When I decided to train for it, I did what every rational adult does: I ignored the training plan for a minute and went straight to the costume question. The rules were simple. It had to be fun, recognizable, and runnable. No full-body suit. No mask. No props that would turn kilometer 5 into regret.

I ran through the usual options and none of them felt right. Too serious. Too complicated. Too “trying.” Then Hei Hei showed up, the chicken was the answer. Pure chaos, zero elegance, somehow still advancing. Loud, a little ridiculous, and weirdly determined. No grace, no strategy. That was the energy. The work stays serious. I don’t have to.

So heiheimax became the label for the whole thing: train hard, keep it light, and show up even when you feel ridiculous. Especially then.
