• Børsen (the old stock exchange) the dragon-tail spire; the building burned in April 2024 and the spire collapsed. the reconstruction is ongoing through this decade and worth seeing in progress
• Tivoli Gardens the 1843 pleasure garden; the canonical Copenhagen sight when in season. open mid-April to late September, plus Halloween (October) and Christmas (mid-November to end of December). closed otherwise

Christianshavn

• Christianshavn canal quieter than Nyhavn, the local-favorite canal walk
• Christiania the free-town commune since 1971; Pusher Street was formally dismantled in 2024 and the open cannabis trade is gone, but the rest of the community remains. respect the no-photo zones, eat at Morgenstedet or Spiseloppen
• Church of Our Saviour (Vor Frelsers Kirke) the spiral exterior staircase wraps the spire; climb for the harbor view
• Nordatlantens Brygge (North Atlantic House) the cultural anchor for the Greenland, Faroe Islands, and Iceland connection; gallery, restaurant Barr in the building

Refshaleøen, Holmen, Nordhavn

• CopenHill (Amager Bakke) Bjarke Ingels' trash-burning power plant with a ski slope on the roof; ride the elevator, ski the artificial slope, walk the hiking trail. one of the great architecture-as-civic-infrastructure moves anywhere
• Operaen (Royal Opera House) the Henning Larsen building on Holmen, the harbor symmetry across from Amalienborg
• Refshaleøen the former shipyard, now home to Noma, Lille Bakery, Reffen street food, La Banchina swim and sauna
