House rules
- Transit rule T-bana (metro) is the way. Walk anything under 1.5 km. Boats count as transit
- Subway art rule the metro is the world's longest art gallery. T-Centralen, Solna Centrum, Stadion, Rådhuset, Tensta, Kungsträdgården. Single SL ticket, ride and gallery-hop
- Cash rule Sweden is cashless. Bring cards. Many places refuse cash
- Drinking rule Systembolaget (state monopoly) is the only place to buy wine and spirits to take away. Closed Sundays, closes early Saturday
- Light rule summer light is endless (sunset 10pm in June). Winter is dark by 3pm. Plan accordingly
- Fika rule coffee plus pastry is a national institution, not a snack. Schedule it. Vete-Katten or Sturekatten for the formal version
- Tipping rule not expected. Round up at most
- Museum clock most open 10 or 11. Vasa fills up by midday. Go at open
- Archipelago rule Vaxholm is 1 hour, the easy half-day. Sandhamn is 3 hours, worth an overnight only
